How to measure two sizes
Two measurements. A better fit. Every hand moves differently, so we ask for one size above the joint and one below it.

Three steps
- 1. Use a ring sizer
- The most accurate method is a standard jeweler’s ring sizer. Measure at the end of the day, when swelling is most likely.
- 2. Measure two sizes
- For DIP, PIP and thumb IP joint splints, measure two ring sizes: one above the joint and one below the joint, over the knuckle.
- 3. Choose your size
- If you are between sizes, choose the larger size for comfort.
General tips
- Measure at the end of the day, when swelling is most likely.
- Always measure twice for accuracy.
- Note if the knuckle is larger than the base of the finger.
- If you are between sizes, choose the larger size for comfort.
Sizes we make
US sizes 0 to 16, in quarter steps, so the fit is yours and not the nearest one.
The same sizes are available in brass and in 925 sterling silver.
Not every design asks for two
Designs that pass over a joint ask for two sizes. Others are sized differently, and each product page shows the size selectors for that design.
- Buddy RingBecause this design connects two fingers, the size of both fingers matters.
- 2½ Buddy RingBecause this design spans adjacent fingers, the size of each finger matters.
- Thumb MCP Splint with BraceletBecause this design also sits at the wrist, fit matters at both the thumb and the wrist.
- Stable Thumb SplintThumb anatomy varies, so fit matters at the thumb and the hand.
